Berkeley has a pretty good variety of eateries with gluten free options and since I didn’t get the chance to try all of them, I thought I’d let you know about the other celiac friendly options I came across…
Extreme Pizza has two locations in Berkeley. One on Shattuck at Durant and the other on College at Alcatraz. Both locations offer gluten free pizza.
Gather on Oxford Street has an interesting menu with a fairly large number of gluten free items clearly marked with ‘gf”. Most of the starters and soups sound amazing but this place isn’t the cheapest.
Bobby G’s Pizzeria on University Ave offers gluten free pizza. I almost went here for my birthday but I didn’t feel as though the woman I spoke to on the phone really understood what I was talking about when I said I was celiac so Iopted for Pizza Rustica instead.
San Francisco Soup Company on Bancroft way does a few gluten free soups.
Mariposa Bakery on Telegraph Ave are a 100% gluten free bakery which sells bread, rolls, bagels, pizza crusts (used in many of the surrounding pizza places to make gf pizza) cakes and brownies.
Sfoof’s Woffle Cafe on Bancroft Ave next to the Berkeley campus sell gluten free waffles as an option with various yummy sounding toppings.
