Seasonal Gluten Free Treats
Gluten Free Thorntons
I just came across the Thorntons website and was very happy to find that each of their products indicate whether or not they are gluten free. All original Thorntons chocolates are on the site as well as lots of their seasonal, christmassy gifts and treats. Whatever you are looking for, this site can help you to make a safe choice. It looks as though quite a few of their products are gluten free….even some of their boxes of chocolates meaning that we can dive right in and have whatever we want without worrying! Their advent calendars are gluten free too and you can get them personalised with your name in icing so I’m off to buy mine right now….

Update: Thorntons ice cream is delicious and gluten free. Every flavour, similar to the

chocolates and sweets in store, is labelled and I’m yet to find one that isn’t gluten free. Obviously the cones are out of the question but a couple of scoops in a wee bowl with a chocolate truffle flake (also gf) is a delicious treat on a sunny afternoon!
Gluten free Advent Calendars
It’s fast approching that time of year again when a little chunk of chocolate with breakfast for the 24 days leading up to Christmas starts sounding like a good idea. Looking around the stores recently I’m faced with all of these little doors, numbered 1-24, and I find myself wondering whether or not there is a gluten free treat hiding behind them. Looking at the ingredients on the back , it’s difficult to tell and I don’t want to risk it if I’m not sure. How can I find out which calendars are gluten free? If a Cadbury’s Flake, for example, is gluten free then does this mean that a Flake advent calendar will be too?
UPDATE: I found a gluten free advent calendar in Thorntons and I’m delighted!
